“Let’s understand the journey of a person’s life through the example of a chariot.”

Let us consider:

The Horse as a boy/girl

The Chariot as life

The Charioteer as family members and Guru

The journey begins under the reins and commands of the Charioteer.

After some tough paths, ups and downs, the Charioteer rests by holding the reins but not actively controlling them.

This is the time when the Horse gets distracted by many things, chooses the wrong path, and speeds up — which results in misbalancing the Chariot.

At this point, the Charioteer must pull the reins to slow down the Horse and bring it back to the right path. But due to trust and love for the Horse, the Charioteer thinks it’s just a small imbalance and doesn’t try to control it. This makes the Chariot unknowingly move further towards the wrong path.

Along the way, many people warn the Charioteer to stop the Chariot and change its course. Yet, being blinded by love and trust in the Horse, the Charioteer doesn’t listen and keeps moving ahead.

After a long time, when the Charioteer finally realises that the Chariot is moving roughly and heading towards the wrong path, he reaches for the reins to regain control. But by now, due to repeated misbalances, the reins have slipped and fallen onto the Horse itself.

The Charioteer tries to grab them, but because of the Horse’s speed and instability, his hands can’t reach. The Chariot continues running into wrong paths, hurting the Charioteer through the Horse’s diversions.

Now, there is only one way out:

The Horse itself. If the Horse realises the mistake, stops, and redirects onto the right path, only then can the Chariot and the Charioteer travel safely and happily towards their destination.

“In the end, no matter who guides us, the true journey of life depends on when the horse within us chooses to stop, reflect, and return to the right path.”
